These few pages provide a brief view of what the Ramsgate Maritime Museum has in store for visitors, starting with the approach to the beautiful 19th Century Clock House which houses the exhibits.
The Clock House was designed between 1805, when Samuel Wyatt was instructed to prepare a plan for it, and 1810, by which time work was underway but alterations were still being made to the design.
A sign above the door explains Ramsgate Mean Time, beginning the journey of discovery even before you step foot into the museum itself.
Below you can see a view of part of Ramsgate’s Marina and waterfront as visible from the doorway the museum.
