Exhibition on Ramsgate’s Ferries
Although planned to run only until the end of the year, the Ferries exhibition in the Gun Room has been given an extended lease of life by the delay in the return of the Rupertino Cannon. This means that it will be available for viewing through December and January.

Update on The Stirling Castle Gun
Following the boring out of the barrel it is necessary for the Cannon to undergo a final electrolysis treatment. This will extend the duration of the work such that the gun is expected back around March.

Free Day & Children’s Workshop
On Thursday August 16th the Ramsgate Maritime Museum will be holding an open day, providing free entry to the museum. There will also be entertainment for children in the form of Toy Theatre workshops run by Robert Poulter, who performed Black Bart’s Last Breakfast at the museum in June.

Sundowner Back In The Water
As of July the 12th, 2007, the Dunkirk Little Ship Sundowner is back in Ramsgate’s Inner Harbour. Although there is still much work to be done on the boat’s interior, all at the EKMT are pleased to see her back where she belongs.

Trams & Buses At Margate
Margate Museum's new exhibition "The Trams and Buses of Thanet" will be officially opened on Saturday 23rd June, the museum's 20th anniversary. Admission to the museum will be free of charge on that day, and Stagecoach in East Kent will be bringing their beautifully-restored 1967 AEC Regent to the Market Place.

Next Stage of Stirling Castle Gun Conservation Underwaypp64129f59.jpg
On the morning of June 20th the Gun Carriage recovered from the Stirling Castle and kept, until now, in the Gun Room at Ramsgate Maritime Museum was taken away for conservation. The carriage, and some other wooden artifacts recovered at the same time, is going to France for treatment and is expected back at the museum by 2010.

On Saturday June 9th the Maritime Museum will be playing host to performances of Black Bart’s Last Breakfast by Robert Poulter’s New Model Theatre. Performances of this tale of piracy will be staged throughout the day and entry to the museum on the day will be free.
Normal opening hours of 10am till 5pm will apply.
